That is a question nobody can answer, except myself: it is a secret Herbert himself told me in a very sad letter.(while he was missing) Herbert claims that he saw a giant monkey swoop in the window with a rotten banana and disturbed him so much he almost had an accident on Dr. Ellis' good table! The letter says:"I shall miss you very much, good friend. I just could not bear it any longer: She started to dance! There is only so much one parrot can go through in one haunted night, so I have decided to FLEE New Jersey" As it turns out, when I went to computer classess the next week, he was GONE!
It was TRULY heart breaking. And inconvinient timing! I mean, who needs a missing parrot on their mind when the ASK is going on? NOT ME, THAT'S FOR SURE! Luckily, though, since Herbert and I are such great buddies, he sent me another disturbing letter saying he was hiding in the deep, dark, and eerie caves of Alaska. Oh, well, at least that dancing monkey can't survive in the cold!
